Thefamiliarsaysthathe'sasoldierandlivesbythecodeofthewarrior.NandoragreesandbringsmorerawchickenforGuillermo.Thevampirethengoes,turningthelightson. TheGuidetellsthevampirethatshehasassistedeveryCouncilsince1769,andshe'shonoredtoassistthem.Thenextnight,she'lltakethemtotheCouncilbuilding. ColinbringsGuillermotothem,andNandorsaysthattheirfinaldecisionaboutGuillermoisthattheywon'tkillhimfornow.They'vedecidedtomakeGuillermoafully-fledgedmemberoftheteam,butnotavampire.Insteadthey'regoingtomakehimavampires'bodyguard.Guillermotakesitratherthandie,andthevampiresacceptGuillermo'sacceptance. BeforethevampiresremovethechainsfromGuillermo,theyusefour-wayhypnosisonhimandLaszlowarnsthattheoddsofGuillermobeingmentallystableafterwardareslim.Guillermoagrees,andtheytrytohypnotizehim. Guillermotellsthefilmcrewthatafteryearsofthevampireshypnotizinghim,he'simmunetovampirichypnosis.Hejustletsthemthinktheycanhypnotizehim. ThevampireshypnotizeGuillermotoneverharmthem,andheplaysalongwhenhecomesoutofhis"trance".
